Blog # 1 - Day 1

10 years in 100 words 

As you all know, Deena has been suffering with health issues for sometime, having being diagnosed with Idiopathic Cerebella Ataxia approximately 10 years ago. After hundreds of tests, we are still no closer to the cause of this condition or any specific treatments that will help her - a bummer considering it’s progressively degenerative 😂.

Deena's Doctor in Boston calls her "SPECIAL" - a term of endearment he uses for less than 1 % of the patients he has treated over the last 20 years. This unique population return negative results in every test, even the extensive Genome Genetic Sequencing that Deena had a couple of years ago.

Why are we boarding a plane to Munich 

 

A few weeks ago Deena sent her blood to a specialist testing facility in Germany, and for the first time in a decade the results came back POSITIVE with Chronic Lyme Disease. Strangely, we hope this is good news as we can now try and treat it. 

We also recently discovered that diagnosing Lyme Disease can be difficult for many complex  reasons and that 50% of Lyme Disease testing can show a false negative...... who knew !!!

Not only is testing for Lyme Disease complex but treating Chronic Lyme Disease often requires unconventional medicine and hence we are boarding a flight to Munich and will be spending much of January in the Spa Town of Bad Aibling for some Antibiotic Augmented Thermo Eradication ….. but more on that over the next few days
