Blowing Smoke Up Your Arse

Blog # 7, Day 21

Heading into the Homestretch

Deena had her 2nd blood washing on Monday and her last one is tomorrow. The volume of toxins in her Plasma is reducing, which is certainly positive news. In between the blood washing Deena has 6 to 7 daily therapy treatments that are used to kill ‘other toxins’ and improve Cerebellar functioning. Feel free to Google, but these included Bluelight, Magnetic Field, Mito Box, Papimi and Detox Fussbad. This is certainly an holistic approach to treating her symptoms, but the strangest one was when then doctor placed a small tube in her arse and blew air up it ….. I shit you not. I have tried finding out why with no luck. Comments on the benefits of air up your arse are welcome !!

Deena will return to the USA with the cleanest Plasma (and arse) on the UWS.

Of course the million $ question (or is it billion $ these days) is how will all this help to improve Deena’s symptoms ? Unfortunately we won’t know for many months. We look for small signs of improvement, and another one Deena discovered last night was the ability to wash her face without creating a bathroom tsunami.

I’ve been told by Nicola who visited Deena at the weekend that if Deena has to return I have been fired and Nicola has been hired. Their weekend together was fun. Not only did they find toast in the town, something I failed to do, but they also experienced a Bad Aibling Memorial Service with a bunch of locals dressed up in Lederhosen - seems reminiscent of a time gone by …..

I hope you are still enjoying the updates, Deena leaves this weekend, so I will try and get 1last blog in

Good News / Bad news & YELLOW GUNK

Blog # 6, Day 15

What’s a few days between friends

Just a very quick update. The Good news is that Deena has fully recovered from her last heat treatment and when we sat with the Clinics Blood Specialists yesterday we actually saw the Lyme Bacteria Borrelia in Deena’s blood, and could also see it dying. Borrelia is a very clever bacteria that often remains undetectable until you heat up the body. The picture below shows blood cells with the Borrelia smiley face - yes it really shows up as a smiley face !!

The Bad news is that after spending hours with a whole range of doctors we “ALL” agreed that Deena needs to extend her stay by a few more days so that 3 sessions of Therapeutic Plasmapherese (blood washing) can take place. This process can be very useful for the treatment of neurological disorders as it removes further toxins from the blood and replaces them with healthier Plasma.

No-one can guarantee if this is going to help Deena, however When-In-Rome …… I also spent yesterday afternoon reading a 20 page John Hopkins University Hospital paper on the benefits of Plasma removal for Cerabella issues and I was sold !!

The yellow tube below is a cylinder full Deena’s plasma. This is from today’s blood washing, and if you zoom into the bottom of the tube you’ll be able to see several inches of “YELLOW GUNK”. A technical German term used to described toxic Plasma. They were actually surprised to find so much, so the decision to repeat 3 times seems justified.

Unfortunately I am flying back to NYC tomorrow. 7 Schnitzels in 15 days must be some kind of record and if I don’t leave Bad Aibling soon I may have to check into an obesity clinic. Don’t worry I am being replaced by friends and family over the next week.

For those technically able, Deena always loves to read the comments.

Roofied, Naked Old Men & Snapping

Blog # 6, Day 13

And here we go again

This morning Deena started her 2nd (and hopefully last) Antibiotic Augmented Thermoeradication treatment. For those who have been following you’ll know that this comes with very little pain, just 2-3 days of deep deep sleep…. Where can I sign up !!

Update - Deena is now out of  the “Heat Tent’’ and in a recovery room until tomorrow morning. She hit 107 F (42 C ) for 125 minutes, a new St.Georges Clinic world record.  I managed to get a few words with her, but she is completely knocked out - guessing this is how it feels to be roofied.

We had fun at the weekend with Mimi visiting. It was nearly a normal 48 hours, as there was very little therapy, so we took the chance to dine at  each of the 3 fine restaurants in the town. Mimi visited Bad Aibling’s Therma Spa for a Sauna, followed by a dip in a freezing cold plunge pool, and then a massage. Picture Mimi and her friend entering a very very large Sauna surrounded by dozens of old men and women stark naked sprawled across the wooden benches . It wasn’t just the sauna, there were naked bodies everywhere, unisex changing rooms, plunge pools and even the Restaurent.  German culture we’ve since learned, but Mimi is still traumatized, she may never go back in a sauna again.

Many of you have asked if there have been any signs of improvement. We don’t expect anything for many months, and we don’t even know if Chronic Lymes is causing Deena’s symptoms. However ……

There are a number of tests Neuroscientists use to assess the impact of Cerebella Ataxia. Two simple ones are the ability to snap (click for UK audience) your fingers and the heel-to-shin test. May sound simple, but difficult tasks for Deena. Saturday at lunch she snapped her fingers at me and pretty loudly. She hasn’t been able to this for some years.

The heel-to-shin test is simple for people without Cerebella Ataxia. While lying down you run one heal down the opposite leg and shin. I am sure you are all trying this now.  The expected action is a smooth straight movement of both legs.  An abnormal finding is that the patient will not be able to trace the shin in a straight line accompanied by shaking of the heal. Cerebella Ataxia is a degenerative condition, so Deena’s heel-to-shin test has got worse over the years. Last night it was pretty smooth.

Small steps but you never know ……we dream, maybe foolishly, of what it would be like if Deena regained her full balance. A 6 inch pair of Louboutins is on her list as well as cycle through Tuscany.

Thank you as always for all your messages and comments - what do you think Deena should be doing this time next year ?

Am I the worse nurse in the world ?

Blog # 5, Day 10

Doesn’t time fly when you’re …….

Can’t believe we have been here 10 days. We are in the “quiet-before-the-storm” phase of the treatment plan, as Deena prepares for Thermoeradication #2, on either Monday or Tuesday.

In preparation for the 3 days of sleeping that follows, Deena has had several holistic style therapies and intravenous drips to rid her body of any toxins that may still exist. She of course has found the time to get her hair blown out.  If you ever find yourself in Bad Aibling, Frauline Inga at Simply Hair can do a Madison Avenue style blow out for only €23, including tip !

Sometime over the last 2 days I made a comment along the lines of….... “ DEENA, my 94 year old grandma on her death bed moved quicker than you “ .  It didn’t go down that well. I suppose calling me the worse nurse in the world is not unfair. Must try better !

A package arrived this morning, as Mimi and her friend popped over from Rome, via the Alliance Stadium. That certainly brought a smile to Deena’s face and relieved me of my “nursing” duties. Mimi no doubt is far more caring and certainly has more patience.

There are some very small signs of improvement - Deena can now kick a ball as well as any of the Spurs Strikers. On a serious note a couple of the physical therapy tests that her Boston Doctors carry out seem to be improving, but it’s still very early days and there’s a long way to go.

As always Deena loves your Blog comments and appreciates your long distance manifesting.

Strawberry Shoe Laces Please

Blog # 4, Day 7

What did I miss ?

Deena woke up this morning after pretty much being asleep since 5:30 AM Monday. The Whole Body Hyperthermia Treatment went well, and during the 6 hour process the Doctors managed to heat her body to the magic number, 107 F (42 C). Given Deena’s symptoms and medical history they gave her the strongest antibiotics they could find - hopefully they haven’t been lying around since WW2.

She really hasn’t eaten since Saturday night and the first food she requested this morning were Strawberry Shoe Laces….. go figure. She is also very keen to hop on the scales for a quick weigh in, no need for Ozempic in Bad Aibling !

Deena turned on her phone to the following:

She wants to stress that she’s not being rude and hasn’t died ! I did update her with what I thought were the top 3 news stories she had missed over the last 48 hours:

(1) France has a new Prime Minister, aged only 34. That’s 47 years younger then Biden
(2) Franz Beckenbauer died, one of the greatest ever footballers
(3) Michigan won the college football Championship.

She wasn’t impressed saying “didn’t miss much then”. Maybe this crowd could comment in the blog on the more relevant ’news’ that she has missed over the last couple of days.

The rest of the week is spent continuing to recuperate and attending numerous other procedures until Sunday, when she will repeat the Hyperthermia Treatment all over again.

As always, Deena is very grateful for all the well wishes.

Baby, its cold outside !!!

Blog # 3, Day 5

How to go from 12 F to 107 F in 3 hours

It’s Monday and today is when the business end of the treatment starts. Deena’s morning began at 5:30 am with the “preparation” work for the upcoming 6 hour Hyperthermia treatment. I will leave what that entails to your imagination !!!

The temperature outside at 5:30 am was 12 F. I have had complaints from the metric followers of weather, so that is equivalent to -11 C.

3 hours later Deena is sleeping inside this yellow chamber where the temperature gradually raises to 107 F (42 C).

To be honest, I don’t really know what all the fuss is about. This treatment is right up Deena’s street - there is no one who likes sitting in the sun for hours more than her !

Remember, the name-of-the-game is to get the body temperature as high as possible to kill the bacteria that causes Lymes. The Clinics research over the last 30 years has shown that 107 F is the exact number for at least 2-3 hours. Interestingly if it doesn’t reach 107 F then it can lead to a worsening of the disease, as Borrelia will multiply.

UPDATE - Deena just came out of the treatment. Doctors say it went well. Supposedly she will be very sleepy for the next few hours.

Thank you for all your well wishes

What happens in Bad Aibling hopefully stays in Bad Aibling

Blog # 2 - Day 3

Where the hell is Bad Aibling

We have arrived in Bad Aibling, 56 KM south of Munich. Famous for 2 things :

(1) A Techno and House music festival that takes place annually in August

(2) A Bavarian Spa town with several renowned rehabilitation clinics

Unfortunately we are here for the latter, although I am not sure spending a week at a Techno Music festival is our thing either !!

Deena has checked into the Clinic where she will be spending at least the next 3 weeks. It is certainly not a modern hospital, but the nurses and doctors couldn’t have been more welcoming. I actually can’t believe how genuinely nice all the Germans have been.

The Clinic has a 75% success rate of eliminating Borreliosis, the bacteria that causes Lyme.

Over the next 3 weeks Deena has multiple treatments each day that include aggressive detoxification, blood washing, mitochondrial repair, immune regenerative therapy, and photodynamic laser therapy. However the real reason we are in Germany is that on Monday she starts Antibiotic Augmented Thermoeradication, try saying that in German. This treatment is not available in USA.

For six hours they will heat Deena’s body to 107 F and then pump her body intravenously with a cocktail of very strong antibiotics. Will update with pictures Monday .

I have checked into the 5 star Hotel opposite the clinic and will spend my days checking in on Deena, working and deciding between a menu full of Schnitzel's, Therma Spas, Sauna’s and Mud Wraps.
